In June 2026, during my vacation on Tenerife, I took part in three incomparable photography tours with photographer Detlef Schmalow.
It all began with a breathtaking night beneath the starry sky in Teide National Park, photographing the Milky Way. This was followed by a daytime tour through Teide National Park and Charco el Diablo, and finally, we embarked on an almost mystical journey into the Anaga Mountains, with their famous laurel forest and Playa del Benijo.
The tours were perfectly prepared by Detlef. During the planning stage, he took plenty of time to patiently listen to my wishes and ideas and discuss the best possible options. Thanks to his excellent local knowledge, he guided me to truly extraordinary and impressive locations.
With his empathetic and intuitive ability to capture the unique atmosphere and special character of each place and incorporate them into the photographic composition, Detlef provided me with a wealth of creative inspiration for developing my own photographic style. He patiently supported me with his extensive photographic expertise in shaping and realizing my ideas. As a result, I was able to create some outstanding photographs that I could never have achieved without the guidance of such an experienced mentor.
Another source of inspiration was a visit to his exhibition at Bodegas Monje. The emotionally expressive photographs are impressive examples of what landscape photography can be.

Im Juni 2026 habe ich während meines Urlaubs auf Teneriffa drei unvergleichliche Fototouren mit dem Fotografen Detlef Schmalow unternommen.
Am Anfang stand eine traumhafte Nacht unter dem Sternenhimmel im Teide Nationalpark, um die Milchstraße zu fotografieren, darauf folgte eine Tagestour im Teide Nationalpark und dem Charco el Diablo und zum Abschluss führt uns eine fast mystische Tour ins Anaga-Gebirge mit dem berühmten Lorbeerwald und den Playa del Benijo.
Die Touren waren perfekt von Detlef vorbereitet. In der Vorbereitung nahm er sich viel Zeit um sich geduldig meine Wünsche und Vorstellung anzuhören und entsprechende Möglichkeiten zu besprechen. Aufgrund seiner exzellenten Ortskenntnisse führte er mich zu wirklich außergewöhnlich eindrucksvollen Locations.
Durch Detlefs empathische und einfühlsame Fähigkeit die besonderen Stimmungen und einzigartigen Reize der einzelnen Orte aufzunehmen und in die Bildgestaltung einfließen zu lassen, konnte er mir vielfältige kreative Anregungen für meine individuelle fotografische Gestaltung vermitteln. Dabei unterstütze er mich sehr geduldig und mit seinem großen fotografischen Wissen bei der Gestaltung und Umsetzung meiner Bildideen. Dadurch sind mir einige großartige Fotos gelungen, die ich ohne die Hilfe dieses erfahrenen Mentors nicht verwirklicht hätte.
Eine zusätzliche Inspiration war der Besuch seiner Ausstellung in den Bodegas Monje.
Die emotional ausdrucksstarken Fotos sind eindrucksvolle Beispiele dafür was Landschaftsfotografie sein kann.
